A Global Approach to Research and Development
In the recent “Minding the Biological Gap” webinar, hosted by AgriBusiness Global, our Technical Development Manager, LATAM/CAC, Dr. Willian Batista Silva, shared how Rainbow Bio approaches this mission through a global, collaborative model for research and development. Central to this strategy is our R&D hub in China, which connects experts from universities, research centers, customers, and commercial teams directly with our scientists.
This collaborative framework allows us to design biostimulants and biocontrol products with enhanced reproducibility, data consistency, and real-world applicability. Beyond product development, we are also creating platforms and tools that explain biostimulants more clearly, generate actionable metrics, and support improved product positioning.
Addressing Challenges in Latin America
Willian highlighted a critical challenge in Latin America: while the registration of biological products has surged in recent years, on-farm adoption has not kept pace. Emerging biofactories have improved access to these products, but they also bring challenges in sanitary control and technical expertise.
To address this, Rainbow Bio invests in technical infrastructure, hands-on training, and partnerships with cooperatives and associations—ensuring farmers can fully leverage the benefits of biological products. Several factors contribute to this adoption gap, including knowledge limitations, usability, trust and consistency, logistical challenges, and regulatory constraints.
Strengthening Solutions Through Collaboration
Rainbow Bio is leveraging its global expertise to provide effective biocontrol and plant health solutions. By combining our original Bio Team with formulation specialists in China, and bringing in professionals with strong sector experience, we continue to strengthen our capabilities. We are also developing client-focused platforms to help farmers make the most of our solutions and integrate them seamlessly into their practices.
